Class Reunion Date!!!

OK, guys. Here's the final date. No questions asked! We are ready to get this thing rolling.

Maybe with several events being planned during the entire weekend it will give everyone an opportunity to at least

make one of them.I'll be mailing this letter out to as many addresses as possible. I may have to send some to their

parents. So please help me get the word out and post the following letter as many places as possible.

Dear 1996 Graduates:

New plans are being made for our 1996 SLHS Reunion! At this time several have shown interest in the weekend of

Friday, September 8th. We would like to begin by attending the Annual "Pigskin Classic" vs. North Lenoir, which will be

hosted at South Lenoir this year. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. This would be a wonderful opportunity for

families to Meet and Greet!

The following evening, Saturday, September 9th, dinner reservations are made at Madison's in Goldsboro for 6:00 p.m.

For those who may not be familiar with Madison's, it is an all you can eat rib-eye buffet for $10.99 (optional All-You-Can-Eat

Crab Legs Extra). No alcoholic beverages will be available at Madison's. However, some arrangements are being made for those

interested in a little dancing afterwards.

At this time, no plans are being made for a family day at the park. However, should enough people show interest this is most

certainly an optional event! Originally a self-packed picnic at Fairfield was being planned. So, if you would like to see this

reinstated, please let us know.

This reunion has had several failed attempts. Please contact us so that we can celebrate a successful 10-Year Reunion.

Vote Now For the New Date of Our 10-Year Reunion!!!

Okay let's try again for a date to get this 10th year reunion on tap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looking at two events: one including graduates and their family on Friday night at a home SL football game; and the second event on Saturday night for adults only.

I have pulled the football schedule for this upcoming year and would like for everyone to look at their calendars and see which date would work better for them. I know that we cannot accommodate everyone and make everyone happy, but I would like a group consensus.

Here's some dates and games for September and October:

Letter From the 10-Year Reunion Planning Committee

To Whom It May Concern:

I would like to clarify the reasoning on why the reunion date was changed on such short notice.

Misty, Nicky and I tried many times to complete lists of interested attendants from the graduating class.

However, few people were responding to the newspaper and emailed notices. When fewer than 15 people showed

interest in attending a reunion, we decided to try to accommodate the request for a later date.

It was not our intent to disregard the 15 or so people who had made contact with interest in attending, but of

the 15 people who contacted with interest, fewer than half gave guaranteed intent of attending one of the two

planned events.

As to why we waited for the very last minute, we were trying to hold out in the event that more people were

planning to attend, but simply had not yet responded. We hoped that more emails and phone calls would come in response

to the reunion. It is now our hope that by changing the date to sometime in football season, more people would be available.

Also, we have tried very hard to recruit ideas about the reunion as well as addresses or contact information about other

classmates, we are still trying to gather such information.

Nicky has since moved out of state and life is very busy with school, work and family homes to run so any assistance in running

the show would be very helpful.

Please contact Misty or myself if you and your family intend to attend any upcoming events. If we do not receive information

from you, we are unable to know if our planning has been successful.

I would like to apologize for ANY inconveniences this has caused. We do understand how disappointed you are in the

delayed reunion. I would like to strongly encourage those who made plans to attend July 22nd to still contact one another

and take our missed opportunity to still reconnect with one another.

Planning and contacting our classmates has proven much more difficult than originally thought, so please, please,

please make contact with us if only to give updated contact information.

As of right now we are currently postponing the reunion. All of our graduating class

has not been contacted and I feel that if we go through with next weekend, a lot of people may not

come. We are hoping to pull this event off either in late Sept or early Oct. I ask for all graduates

to help with suggestions, contact info, and etc. by contacting me

This is our 10 Year Reunion and I want all of our class to have the opportunity to participate.

I would love to have two events---one for the entire family of our graduates and a night event for just

adults to socialize, and have fun. Any suggestions, comments, and help that you could provide would be greatly

appreciated. Sorry for any inconvenience at this time. Just need help to make this successful. I hope all of

you are doing well and look forward to talking to you soon.

Just wanted to update you on our last meeting. We have made a final reunion date for

Saturday, July 22nd. We will be having a family day at Fairfield Park on Vernon Avenue from

11 a.m. til 2 p.m. with hotdogs, chips, and drinks. We are looking at several local restaurants for

a night event of dinner, drinks, and socializing. So make sure you put the date on your

calendars and look for a finalized letter hopefully in the next couple of weeks with the

complete details and cost. Hope everyone is doing well and hope to see all of you real soon!

Hope everyone is doing well! I have recently met with Nicky and several other classmates

and have made several plans for the upcoming reunion. We are looking at June 3rd. However,

classmates are calling and asking for a later date due to due dates, graduation dates,

and etc. We are looking at having a family day on a nice warm summer Saturday at the park

for families to enjoy. At night maybe a nice sit down dinner for socializing and then let

everyone decide after plans such as going out for dancing and such. Any suggestions or comments

please? Can't wait to see everyone again!
